Mateh Binyamin Deputy Head Urges Israeli Government to Fully Take Responsibility for Illegal Waste in West Bank
During Channel 14's Environmental Protection and Recycling Conference, Amichai Rahamim, Deputy Head of the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council, called on the Israeli government to fully assume responsibility for managing illegal waste in the West Bank. Rahamim emphasized the need for all government bodies and partners to collaborate in protecting the land for future generations.
He criticized the current practice of shifting responsibility to other parties and insisted that the state must reclaim full control over what happens in Judea and Samaria. Rahamim stressed the importance of collective action to safeguard the environment, stating, "We need to preserve our land for the sake of future generations; this is why we wake up every day."
Concluding on an optimistic note, Rahamim acknowledged that while much work remains, progress is being made in addressing the issue of illegal waste disposal in the region.
