Larnaca, Athens, and Rome Among Cheapest Summer Flight Destinations from Israel
Summer is a peak travel season with generally high flight prices, but travelers from Israel can still find affordable options by being flexible with their travel dates. According to data from the travel company Gulliver, flights departing in early July or late August with returns in early September can cost under $200. The cheapest flight found was to Larnaca, Cyprus, priced at $92 for a return on September 2nd.
Gulliver's CEO Tamar Garzon emphasized that timing is crucial for securing lower prices, noting that travelers who adjust their dates slightly can save significantly. The company highlighted that while demand peaks in late August, prices in July and early September are more attractive.
A review of flight listings on the "Secret Flights" website for July and August shows several budget-friendly options. In July, the cheapest flight is to Larnaca at $122 with Arkia Airlines. Other destinations under $200 include Paphos, Athens, Rhodes, Crete, Burgas, Sicily, Preveza, and Corfu, all served by Israeli carriers. Prices rise as August progresses.
In late August and early September, prices drop again, with the cheapest flight to Larnaca at $92 via Wizz Air, returning September 2nd. Flights to Rome, Crete, Athens, Rhodes, and Paphos are also available for under $200 if returning in September. However, flights during the peak season from August 20 to 30 can cost $330 or more for the cheapest options, with others exceeding $400.
Travelers should note that these low prices are base fares, often excluding checked baggage and may involve less convenient flight times. Nonetheless, flexibility in travel dates remains the key to finding affordable summer flights from Israel.
