Renowned Rabbi Ron Moshe Shaia Passes Away in Jerusalem at 60

Rabbi Ron Moshe Shaia, a prominent figure in the French Jewish community and head of the Yeshivat Yeshuot Yosef in Jerusalem's Ramot neighborhood, passed away at the age of 60 after a prolonged battle with a severe illness. Born in France to Rabbi Yosef Shaia, he immigrated to Israel in his youth and studied at the prestigious Porat Yosef Yeshiva in Jerusalem, where he was deeply influenced by Rabbi Ben Zion Abba Shaul.

Throughout his life, Rabbi Shaia dedicated himself to strengthening Jewish identity and encouraging return to faith among French Jews. He was renowned worldwide as a compelling orator, especially noted for his lectures demonstrating the fulfillment of biblical prophecies, including those related to the Holocaust and modern times, inspiring many to repentance and faith.

Several years ago, he founded Yeshivat Yeshuot Yosef in Ramot D, which became a spiritual beacon for young French Jews. Rabbi Shaia leaves behind a large family, thousands of students, and admirers mourning his loss. His funeral took place on Monday, 14th of Tammuz, departing from his yeshiva in Jerusalem to Mount of Olives for burial. May his soul be bound in the bond of life.
