Madonna Admits Jealousy of Kylie Minogue During BBC Interview Ahead of New Album Release

Madonna appeared on a special BBC program hosted by Graham Norton to discuss her upcoming 15th album, Confessions II. During the interview, which also featured Kylie Minogue, the two stars reminisced about Minogue's guest appearance on Madonna's Celebration Tour two years ago. Minogue expressed her admiration for Madonna, sharing that she and her sister used to listen obsessively to Madonna's first album.

Madonna revealed that during her performance at the EMA Awards in Stockholm, she wore a shirt emblazoned with Kylie Minogue's name as a tribute during her "country phase." She explained that she wanted to honor artists she admired, naturally thinking of Minogue. Minogue recalled being touched by the gesture, while Madonna confessed with some humor that she felt a bit jealous of Minogue's charm and beauty, even joking that her then-husband, director Guy Ritchie, was attracted to Minogue.

Confessions II, set for release the following Friday, is a follow-up to Madonna's 2005 Grammy-winning album Confessions on a Dance Floor. Madonna also touched on past budget disputes that delayed a biographical film about her life and performed songs from the new album at Times Square during the interview period.
