Madonna Unveils Wild Short Film Ahead of New Album, With Music, Stars and Bathroom Sex

Madonna is turning up the heat ahead of next month, when her new album Confessions II is set for release, a return to the glory days of huge hits like Hung Up. To mark the occasion, she has released a short film packed with new music, hot stars and starlets, and, of course, scandalous sex.

For months, Madonna fans have been eagerly awaiting her next album, Confessions II, a follow-up to Confessions on a Dance Floor. The original 2005 album was a celebration of disco and house that broke chart records around the world and delivered huge hits like Hung Up and Sorry, and the new album, due out on July 3, is expected to bring back the classic, uplifting sound of the original Confessions.

Over the past week, excitement around the new album has only grown, with the 67-year-old pop queen releasing a mini-film ahead of Confessions II. It includes several snippets from songs on the new album, a dramatic plot, plenty of dancing, and guest appearances from a huge cast of stars and starlets, including Benedict Cumberbatch, Sabrina Carpenter, Kate Moss, Odessa A'zion, Arca, Shygirl, and Madonna's daughter, Lourdes Leon.

As mentioned, the new mini-film includes samples of a variety of new songs, countless references to Madonna's career spanning more than 40 years, such as the demo she recorded on a cassette and handed to club DJs so they would play it and help her break through, a dazzling cast of stars and it girls, and, as Madonna likes it, moments designed mainly for scandal. In one scene from the new film, which takes place in the bathroom of a nightclub, Madonna is seen entering one of the stalls with a handsome young man and carrying out her intentions, to the shock of women in nearby stalls who watch her.

The short film ends with an appearance by her daughter, 29-year-old Lourdes Leon, who announces to the cameras, "Cut, bitch," bringing it to a close.

Madonna's two previous albums, Rebel Heart and Madame X, received relatively mixed reviews, but since then the world has gone through a pandemic, countless wars and conflicts, and Madonna herself has struggled. In June 2023, Madonna was found unconscious in her New York home and hospitalized in a coma following a severe bacterial infection. Perhaps all of this together led her to conclude that we need her now more than ever, and if this preview of the upcoming album is any indication, Confessions II is not going to disappoint.
