Madonna Performs in Times Square, Debuts Songs from New Album
American pop star Madonna appeared yesterday, Thursday, in Times Square in New York at an event held in cooperation with the Grindr app to mark the start of Pride Month. During the performance, the 67-year-old singer presented songs from her new album Confessions II, which is scheduled for release on July 3.
During the show, Madonna performed hits from her 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor, including "Hung Up," "Get Together" and "I Love New York." In addition, she premiered songs from the new album, including "I Feel So Free," "Love Sensation" and the single "Bring Your Love." The last song features singer Sabrina Carpenter, who hosted Madonna during her performance at the Coachella festival last April.
The show included references to the LGBTQ community, with images displayed on the screens of prominent figures in the community's history, including activist Marsha P. Johnson, artist Keith Haring and photographer Robert Mapplethorpe.
The new album, Confessions II, is a continuation of the 2005 album that won the Grammy Award for Best Electronic/Dance Album. On the current production, Madonna is once again collaborating with music producer Stuart Price. The album's first single, "Bring Your Love," was released on April 30.
