Maccabi Tel Aviv Signs Bonzi Colson for Second Stint on Two-Year Deal
Maccabi Tel Aviv officially announced the signing of forward Bonzi Colson on a two-year contract, marking his return to the club for the 2026/27 season. Colson previously played for Maccabi during the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons, where he was a key player under coach Kattash and nearly led the team to its first Final Four appearance since 2014. In the 2023/24 season, Colson averaged 12.6 points per game with shooting percentages of 55.1% on two-pointers, 38.7% on three-pointers, and 79.4% from the free-throw line, along with 5.3 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.
After his tenure at Maccabi, Colson played for Fenerbahçe, where he won the EuroLeague title but had a reduced role, averaging 6.7 points in 18:27 minutes per game initially and finishing the season with 7.1 points in 16:52 minutes. Colson exercised a buyout clause of 200,000 euros to leave Fenerbahçe and is expected to earn approximately $1.5 million with Maccabi Tel Aviv. This signing is Maccabi's first major acquisition ahead of the upcoming season.
