Bonzie Colson may leave Fenerbahce this summer, after being pushed to the edge of the rotation in the closing stretch of both last season and the current one. Maccabi Tel Aviv wants to bring back the forward, who left the club in the summer of 2024 for Turkey, but it is not alone in pursuing him.
According to reports, Olympiacos, the reigning European champion, is also considering signing Colson. The Greek club needs a stretch forward after losing Alec Peters, one of the standout players from the Final Four, who is set to join Milan. Greek reports published on Saturday said Colson is already in advanced negotiations with the Piraeus team.
Fenerbahce does have an option on Colson for next season, but any club that wants to sign him would only need to pay a relatively low buyout of $200,000. The contract, however, would have to be much richer, since he has earned a total of $3 million over two years with the Turkish club.
In his final season with Maccabi Tel Aviv, Colson averaged 12.6 points and 5.3 rebounds in the EuroLeague. This past season he averaged 7.1 points and 3 rebounds while shooting 48.5% from three, fourth-best in the EuroLeague this season. In the Turkish league he fell out of the rotation and did not play from April until Fenerbahce's championship game on Friday night.
