US Airstrikes Target 10 Iranian Sites in Strait of Hormuz After Oil Tanker Attacks
The US Central Command announced that American fighter jets struck 10 Iranian targets in the Strait of Hormuz overnight. This military action was a direct response to an Iranian attack the previous day on an oil tanker near the coast of Oman, which was carrying 2 million barrels of oil. Additionally, another merchant ship was recently hit by a missile launch in the same area near Omani waters in the Strait of Hormuz. The US response was stronger than the one carried out the previous night, but officials clarified it did not amount to a full-scale escalation or "breaking of tools."
