Noam Cohen, Pillar of Upper Galilee Basketball, Passes Away
Noam Cohen, a central figure in northern Israeli basketball for the past two decades, has died. The Hapoel Galil Upper Galilee club announced his passing and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of a man who dedicated his life to coaching, educating, and nurturing generations of children in the Upper Galilee region. Cohen was known not only as a coach and manager but also as a mentor and a person with a big heart who positively impacted thousands of players, coaches, and families through his humility, dedication, and love for the game and people.
The club described Cohen as more than a professional; he was a friend and a guiding figure who always offered support and encouragement unconditionally. His absence will be felt in every basketball hall, training session, and corner of the Galilee basketball community. Cohen’s funeral is scheduled for Sunday at 5:00 PM at the cemetery in Kibbutz Gushrim.
