Channel 12 Reporter Heckled Live After Mocking Haredi Boys in Viral Clip
Channel 12 reporter Inbar Twizer was caught on a live broadcast being insulted by a man who recognized her and shouted, “Here is the bitch who filmed the Haredim, here she is. Bitch. This is the bitch.” The incident came amid a public backlash over a video she had posted earlier that sparked outrage over her treatment of two young Haredi boys.
The controversy began on Independence Day evening, when Twizer uploaded an Instagram video showing her and her partner speaking with two young yeshiva students who had come to her door to collect charity for a wedding, known as “hakhnasat kallah.” In the clip, the boys were met with pointed, condescending questions about army service, which many viewers perceived as mocking and humiliating.
The video triggered sharp public criticism and accusations that Twizer had shamed the teenagers. Journalist Aryeh Erlikh later revealed the family’s difficult background, saying the father, a shuttle driver, had lost his livelihood after a Hezbollah missile strike, and that the family was dealing with financial hardship and security-related distress.
The uproar also produced a large wave of donations for the bride, including contributions from Haim Levinson and Aryeh Deri, helping raise hundreds of thousands of shekels. Later, the organization “Emet LeYaakov in Israel” sent Twizer a pre-lawsuit warning letter demanding a public apology for alleged libel and incitement against Torah learners.
