Two Men Arrested in Flatbush Credit Card Skimming Operation

Volunteers from Flatbush Hatzalah and the New York Police Department arrested two men on Wednesday after they were caught attaching skimming devices to credit card terminals at several businesses in Flatbush. The investigation began around 2:45 p.m., when Hatzalah received reports that two men had entered local stores and installed devices designed to steal credit card numbers, footage of the incident showed.

Around 6:10 p.m., Hatzalah received information that one of the suspects had returned to the area. Several volunteers quickly responded, located the men inside a car, and kept them under observation until NYPD officers made the arrest after a brief chase. The second suspect, who was waiting in the vehicle, was also taken into custody.

Police identified the suspects as 43-year-old Andi Dimitriadis and 44-year-old Ogen Tanasyuo. Both were charged with possession of a forgery device. Authorities said the pair had visited multiple stores throughout Flatbush.

Investigators said the two also appeared to have targeted many stores in other Jewish neighborhoods across New York City, but it was still unclear how many businesses were affected. The investigation remains open as authorities work to determine whether the suspects are linked to additional fraud incidents in the city.
