A man in his 40s, identified as the partner of a well-known reality TV alum, was shot on Wednesday in Tel Aviv’s upscale Gush HaGadol neighborhood. The shooting took place on Yehuda Amichai Street while he was riding a scooter, in front of passersby, including a small child. He was taken to Ichilov Hospital conscious and in moderate condition.
According to the report, two suspects arrived on an motorcycle, approached the victim, and one of them chased him on foot while firing shots. The pair fled the scene afterward. Magen David Adom crews evacuated the wounded man, and Tel Aviv North police opened an investigation and began collecting evidence from the scene.
Police are examining several leads, including the victim’s claim that a luxury watch was taken during the incident. Investigators are trying to determine whether this was a violent robbery that escalated or an assassination attempt, with the watch theft either part of the attack or an effort to conceal the motive. A police source told N12, “We have indications as to the identity of the parties behind the act. Numerous investigative and intelligence operations are underway, and we are working to reach all those involved and put them behind bars.”
The shooting renewed concern in the neighborhood after a similar killing on the same street about a year ago, when luxury watch dealer Tal Shpiezman was shot dead in what police believed was tied to an intercriminal dispute. Residents told N12 they are frustrated by repeated gunfire and police activity, saying the area was sold to them as one of the country’s most desirable but now feels unsafe.
