A man in his 40s, the partner of a well-known former reality TV contestant, was shot on Wednesday in the Gush Hagadol neighborhood in northern Tel Aviv. The shooting happened on Yehuda Amichai Street while he was riding an electric scooter, and it took place in front of passersby, including a small child. He was taken to Ichilov Hospital conscious and in moderate condition.
According to the report, two suspects arrived on an motorcycle, approached the victim, and one of them then chased him on foot while firing. Both suspects fled the scene. Tel Aviv North police opened an investigation and began collecting evidence, while examining several possible directions.
Investigators are checking the victim’s claim that a luxury watch was taken during the incident, and whether this was an armed robbery that went wrong or a targeted killing in which the watch theft was part of the attack or an attempt to obscure the motive. A police source told N12, “We have indications regarding the identity of the people behind the act. We are now carrying out extensive investigative and intelligence operations, and we are working to reach all those involved and bring them behind bars.”
The shooting also revived memories of another killing on the same street about a year ago, when luxury watch dealer Tal Shpiezman was murdered in what police suspected was an underworld dispute. Residents of the upscale neighborhood said the violence is becoming a recurring problem and expressed growing concern.
