Thousands of residents joined the funeral on Wednesday night for Rabbanit Herzelia Tzarf, the wife of Rabbi Moshe Tzarf, who headed the Shir LaMa'alot kollel in Kfar Saba and was one of the prominent rabbis of Bnei Brak's Ramat Elchanan neighborhood. She died shortly before midnight, on the exact day of her 72nd birthday, 9 Tammuz 5714 to 9 Tammuz 5786.
According to the report, she had suffered for some time and was deeply pained by the sudden death of her husband, Rabbi Moshe Tzarf, who collapsed and died unexpectedly during a grandson's wedding celebration at Keter HaRimon hall. The article described her as a noble and beloved figure of kindness and purity, and said she spent more than 40 years advising thousands of Jewish women on family purity and the sanctity of the Jewish home.
The funeral procession left the central Sephardi synagogue on Rabbi Zonnenfeld Street in Ramat Elchanan and continued to the cemetery in Elyad, where she was buried next to her husband. Eulogies were delivered by the local rabbi, Rabbi Masoud Ben Shimon, as well as by her sons and sons-in-law, who wept at the loss of their mother.
She left behind a large family that continues in Torah and teaching, including sons Rabbis Reuven Tzarf and Benjamin Tzarf, and her sons-in-law Rabbis Yehoshua Pinchas, Avraham Sraga, Yehuda Ravivo, and Shabbtai Levi. The family is sitting shiva at her home on Rabbi Kahaneman Street 93 in Bnei Brak.
