Hyundai Israel has expanded the Tucson lineup with a refreshed hybrid version in European specification, while the long-wheelbase Tucson that arrived about a year ago remains available in U.S. specification. Imported by Colmobil, the new model joins one of the most varied Tucson ranges offered in Israel, and Hyundai says the non-hybrid Tucson is no longer on sale.
The powertrain is unchanged from the long version in major components: a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with 178 hp, an electric motor with 64 hp, and a combined output of 230 hp. Power is sent through a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle controls for regenerative braking, but unlike the American-spec long model, this European version is front-wheel drive rather than all-wheel drive.
Performance differs accordingly. The new Tucson Hybrid reaches 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds, 0.4 seconds slower than the long model, but its top speed is 205 km/h, 20 km/h higher. Fuel consumption is rated at 17.8 to 17.2 km per liter, about 2.9 km per liter better than the long version.
Hyundai is offering three trim levels for the standard hybrid, One, Pro, and Icon, priced at 190,000, 210,000, and 220,000 shekels. The long-wheelbase hybrid comes in four trims, Pure, Executive, Ultimate, and Excellence, priced at 200,000, 213,000, 230,000, and 249,000 shekels. Warranty coverage is 5 years or 100,000 km for the vehicle and 7 years or 150,000 km for the battery, whichever comes first.
