The Health Ministry issued an urgent warning on Wednesday evening after receiving information suggesting that products of “Tahina Al Prince” that had been set aside for destruction were stolen and put back on the market. The products had been recalled months earlier after routine inspections by the ministry’s Food Service found salmonella contamination. The ministry said it filed a complaint with Israel Police, which opened an investigation.
According to the ministry, the suspected stolen goods are “Tahina Al Prince” items with expiration dates from 13/7/2027 through 6/11/2027, inclusive. The public was urged not to buy or consume any of these products, and to check packages already at home.
The warning covers several brands and package sizes that may have reached store shelves. These include Al Amir in 450 gram, 900 gram, and 17 kilogram packages; Ta’aman in 450 gram packages for pure and full tahini; Rami Levy in 500 gram packages for pure and full tahini and 1 kilogram pure packages; Al Prince in 450 gram and 17 kilogram pure packages, plus 450 gram full tahini; KAPRI in 450 gram and 900 gram packages; and Garger HaZahav in 500 gram packages.
The ministry said the matter poses a serious risk to consumer health and asked the public to avoid all of the listed products while the police investigation continues.
