Singer and actress Leah Tolodano is currently filming "The Restricted," a new Keshet 12 drama based on a play of the same name from the last decade. The series was created by Gur Korin together with the original stage production’s director, Gilead Kimchi, and centers on a married couple, played by Shani Cohen and Amos Tamam, who lead a crime family and fly a theater troupe of people with disabilities to an overseas festival as cover for a dangerous drug-smuggling operation.
Tolodano appears in the cast alongside Agam Rodberg, Naia Binshteok and Roy Miller. In behind-the-scenes footage she shared on social media, she showed that for the role she changed one of the features most associated with her image, her loose curls, which were pulled back for filming.
"Look of a 14-year-old, I liked it," she wrote in the video, which also included images from the makeup room and from set next to Cohen. Tolodano is 24 and first appeared on screen in the seventh season of "The Next Star." She has since acted in television series and stage productions including "Mary Lou," "Tla'ata," and as Belle in "Beauty and the Beast."
Alongside her acting work, Tolodano recently released a live-session version of her album "Ometz" and celebrated with a performance at the Barby club in Tel Aviv. On Instagram, she said the work on the album reminded her how much she loves music and wrote, "The magic that was in the room still stays with me, and I hope it moves you as it moved us."
