As the fighting with Iran subsided, ZAKA and the Israel Home Front Command held a joint study day this week to review lessons learned, strengthen personal ties between commanders and teams, and deepen cooperation for future emergencies.
The session took place at ZAKA’s logistics center and brought together senior officers from the Home Front Command’s Jerusalem and Central districts with ZAKA commanders from its Jerusalem and Central districts. The goal was to improve working interfaces, create more efficient field coordination, and prepare for joint activity in emergency incidents.
Participants received professional briefings on both organizations’ operational capabilities, the district structure, and standard procedures. ZAKA deputy CEO for operations, Chaim Weingarten, also reviewed the organization’s work at emergency scenes and its ongoing cooperation with the Home Front Command in routine and crisis situations. Attendees discussed operational challenges and held a joint exchange aimed at improving coordination.
The meeting emphasized the importance of combining forces to save lives, assist civilians, and provide a fast, professional response in both routine and emergency conditions. Among the Home Front Command participants were Col. Ohad Moyal, commander of the Jerusalem and Central district, and other senior officers and rabbis. ZAKA was represented by CEO Dubi Weissenstern, Weingarten, and dozens of district, regional, and team commanders. Weissenstern said the cooperation is “a significant asset in an emergency,” adding that early personal familiarity helps ZAKA act “quickly, in coordination and efficiently.” Moyal said the long-standing field partnership is intended to ensure both groups can operate together “in the most professional, fast and optimal way” for Israel’s citizens.
