Shin Bet chief David Zini canceled Pride Month events, according to a report Tuesday night on Channel 12. The move quickly drew criticism from Yesh Atid lawmaker Ram Ben Barak, who spoke Wednesday on 103FM radio.
Ben Barak said the decision was "very serious" and argued that Israeli society should remain equal for everyone regardless of sexual orientation or beliefs. "We want to live in an equal society where it does not matter what your orientations are or what you believe in, you get the same rights," he said.
He added that those rights must be defended, saying, "We have to fight for those rights, there is a Pride parade for a reason."
