Israeli striker Omer Dahan said he respects all opinions, even when he disagrees with them, after becoming the public face of a police investigation. On Monday, he revealed that he is the player at the center of the case, which has drawn major attention in Israeli football after police said a player from one of the country’s biggest clubs was arrested in an investigation into a gang from Migdal Haemek.
Dahan thanked everyone who responded to his statements, saying he appreciates the encouragement from people close to him and from others as well. “Thank you for all the warm responses, I greatly appreciate the support and backing from those close to me and from those who are not. It strengthens me a lot,” he said.
He also addressed criticism directly, thanking those who chose to voice a different view. “In the end, the public understands and sees the information that is published. I respect every opinion and every response, even when I do not agree with it,” Dahan said, adding, “Thank God for everything, always.”
A day earlier, Dahan had denied allegations of match-fixing and selling games, saying the accusations do not reflect who he is or how he has acted over the years. He said he never harmed any team he played for and always acted with dedication, commitment, and respect for the profession and the club environment. The investigation remains ongoing.
