After Naftali Bennett said on Kan 11’s "The Mechanism" that illegal settlements and farms should be evacuated and that Area A and B would remain under Palestinian autonomy, Channel 7 asked Likud ministers and Knesset members what should happen to those areas. Their answers were uniformly hardline, centering on sovereignty, settlement expansion, and scrapping the Oslo Accords.
Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar replied simply, "Sovereignty." Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli said the next goal is to stop the Fayyad plan for creating a terror state in the heart of the country and to abolish the Oslo Accords, adding, "There will never be peace with the Palestinians. Never." Deputy Knesset Speaker Nissim Vaturi called for expanding Jewish settlement, saying he sees no security for Israelis alongside a "terrorist authority," and urged, "Expel them all and establish Jewish communities, only כך will we bring security to Israel."
MK Tali Gottlieb offered a shorter message, "More farms and more farms and more farms." MK Katti Shitrit said Bennett’s comments reveal practical support for a Palestinian state, arguing the answer is Israeli sovereignty, stronger settlement, dismantling terror infrastructure, and full Israeli security control. MK Amit Halevi called for rapid demilitarization, new IDF bases and outposts, and a gradual transfer of powers away from Palestinian Authority bodies.
MK Moshe Passal proposed local administration by mayors instead of Palestinian autonomy, saying Arab residents in Judea and Samaria should vote for the Jordanian parliament. MK Oser Shkalim said Likud would advance sovereignty in Judea and Samaria and the Jordan Valley, annul Oslo, and promote full settlement across the land. MK Avichay Boaron also attacked Bennett personally, saying he helped carry out the evacuation of his home in Amona, and added, "We will not limit ourselves to Area C, God forbid. We will settle and strengthen our hold in all the open area in Judea and Samaria, including Areas A and B, and erase Oslo by foot."
