Israeli singer Omer Adam will take a year-long break from live performances as he prepares to marry his fiancée, Sasha Israelovich, in August. According to sources close to the singer, he has cleared his schedule because of the wedding preparations, though he will still keep previously booked events and his Nekt shows planned for Hanukkah.
If there are no last-minute changes, his upcoming show at Ramat Gan Stadium next week, which has already been postponed several times because of the security situation, will be his last for the near future. The same sources said Adam usually performs at the Tamar Festival almost every year, but skipped it this year for the same reason.
The report said Adam is expected to marry in Italy on August 27, after wedding events begin there on August 23. The choice of Italy is linked to Israelovich’s wealthy Jewish family there, and the couple is planning a small ceremony for close family and friends only.
The overseas location is also meant to keep the event more intimate and make it harder for paparazzi to cover. Adam and Israelovich kept their relationship largely out of the public eye until recently, though about three weeks ago he posted several couple photos on Instagram. He met her through mutual friends, and she has already appeared with him at public events, including singer Omer Cohen’s wedding last month.
