Top Rabbis Gather in Jerusalem for Sukkot Celebration

Hundreds of prominent rabbis, yeshiva deans, and public figures convened in Jerusalem's Beit Vagan neighborhood for a "Kabalat Pnei Rebo" (Welcoming the Face of the Rabbi) event. The gathering, held in the large sukkah of the 'Shema Shlomo' institutions, was dedicated to the holiday of Sukkot and led by the Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Shlomo Amar. Rabbi Amar's son, Rabbi Eliyahu Amar, dean of the Rehovot rabbinical court, presided over the event.

During the ceremony, leading rabbis delivered speeches on the significance of Sukkot. Rabbi Shlomo Amar delivered the main address, emphasizing the joy of the holiday and urging the public to strengthen their Torah study for the salvation of the Jewish people. He also distributed dates from his hand to attendees for blessings.

Rabbi David Yosef, another former Sephardic Chief Rabbi, also spoke, praising Rabbi Shlomo Amar's efforts in defending the rabbinate and the system of rabbinical courts against perceived judicial overreach. He expressed hope for continued strengthening of religious institutions.

The event concluded with the rabbis and attendees dancing in celebration of the holiday. Numerous prominent rabbinical figures from across Israel attended, underscoring the event's importance within the religious community.
