Prominent Rabbis Gather for Sukkot Celebration in Jerusalem

Hundreds of prominent rabbis, rabbinical judges, and public figures gathered in Jerusalem for a "Hakhel" (gathering) event in honor of the Sukkot holiday. The event, held at the large sukkah of the "Shema Shlomo" institutions in the Beit Vagan neighborhood, was led by Rabbi Shlomo Moshe Amar, the former Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel, and his son Rabbi Eliyahu Amar, head of the rabbinical court in Rehovot.

During the gathering, Rabbi Amar delivered a central address emphasizing the joy of Sukkot and urged the public to strengthen their Torah study for the salvation of the Jewish people. Rabbi David Yosef, another prominent rabbi, also spoke, praising Rabbi Amar's efforts in defending the rabbinate and the system of rabbinical courts against perceived judicial challenges. He expressed hope for continued strengthening of religious institutions and wished Rabbi Amar good health.

The event featured joyous dancing by the attending rabbis and leaders. Attendees also had the opportunity to receive blessings from Rabbi Shlomo Moshe Amar and take dates from his hand. Numerous leading rabbis from across Israel, including Rabbi Yitzchak Cohen, Rabbi B. Shmueli, Rabbi M. Elhadad, Rabbi C. Mazuz, Rabbi Yitzchak Ades, Chief Rabbi of Israel David Lau, and many city rabbis, participated in the celebration.
