Renowned Bible Scholar Professor Uriel Simon Dies at 97
Professor Uriel Simon, a leading Israeli Bible scholar and former head of Bar-Ilan University's Department of Bible Studies, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 97. His funeral is scheduled for Wednesday at 5:00 PM at the Kehilat Yerushalayim funeral home in Givat Shaul.
Simon dedicated decades to the study and interpretation of the Bible, with a particular focus on the work of Rabbi Abraham ibn Ezra. He was also a dedicated teacher of the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible).
Beyond his academic contributions, Professor Simon was actively involved in Israel's religious and public discourse. He was known for his extensive research and contributions to biblical scholarship.
