Top Rabbis and Judges Gather for Holiday Event in Jerusalem

A festive "Receiving the Rabbi's Face" ceremony was held at the "Renanim - Ahvat Chaim" synagogue in Heichal Shlomo, Jerusalem, drawing large crowds to honor the Chief Rabbi of Israel and President of the Chief Rabbinate Council, Rabbi Kalman Meir Bar. The event was attended by dozens of city rabbis and rabbinical judges, led by the Rishon LeZion and President of the Great Rabbinical Court, Rabbi David Yosef.

Rabbis and judges from abroad also participated, including Rabbi Eliezer Wolff, Rabbi and Av Bet Din of Amsterdam and its surrounding regions, and Rabbi Eliyahu Hamra, Chief Rabbi of Argentina. Senior public figures present included Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon, MK Yaakov Asher, MK Yitzhak Pindrus, Constitution Committee Chairman MK Simcha Rothman, and MK-elect Elyakim Starck.

Communications professional and author Shlomo Kok moderated the event, emphasizing the unique spirit of unity among the Chief Rabbis, which influences their work throughout the year and is evident at this elevated gathering. He noted that "after decades, Heichal Shlomo is once again becoming a center of Torah for the rabbis and judges of Israel, led by our Chief Rabbis."

Rishon LeZion Rabbi David Yosef stressed the importance of internal cohesion, partnership, and the unified mission of the rabbis for the public. Chief Rabbi Kalman Meir Bar stated that the Chief Rabbinate serves as a warm home for all rabbis. He also drew a parallel to the leadership of Moses, highlighting the need for public leaders and rabbis to act with true self-sacrifice for the people of Israel, even when facing personal cost or difficult circumstances, citing the "Noam Elimelech" on the readiness of the righteous to sacrifice for the community.
