Israeli TV Host Yael Bar Zohar Slams 'Zero' Israeli Public Diplomacy in NYC

Israeli television host Yael Bar Zohar arrived in New York City on the same day Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the UN General Assembly. Witnessing large pro-Palestinian demonstrations and protests across the city, Bar Zohar expressed her distress on Instagram, criticizing what she called Israel's "zero" public diplomacy efforts.

"It was very difficult and sad to see the demonstrations," she wrote, adding, "To think about failure and zero public diplomacy for the world, and instead of the world knowing what really happened, you only hear Gaza's voice. Nothing is more depressing than this."

Bar Zohar also documented members of the Neturei Karta group marching with Palestinian flags, expressing anger at their presence. Overwhelmed by the scale of the protests, she recalled her nephew, Eli Baram, who was killed at the Supernova music festival on October 7th. "My heart burns thinking about Eli and the entire massacre of October 7th, and I want to scream at them. We must deal with the public diplomacy front, damn it, we are 3 years late," she stated.

Bar Zohar's family has been personally affected by the October 7th attacks, as her husband Guy Zuaretz's nephew, Eli Baram, 27, was murdered at the Nova festival. She previously shared her grief in a documentary about "American Sabras," describing the loss as feeling like a "piece of my heart, my family, and myself was torn out."
