Opposition MK Slams TV Hosts for 'Zero Appreciation' of Work

Member of Knesset Vladimir Beliak of the Yesh Atid party launched a strong criticism Wednesday against Channel 12 hosts Nasli Bardah and Yoav Limor. Beliak's remarks were prompted by a segment where the hosts discussed his statements and, according to him, awarded him a "fine" three times. Beliak asserted that his comments were presented without him being given an opportunity to respond on air.

"I want to say to Nasli Bardah and Yoav Limor, with much respect and appreciation: You picked on me in your sanctimonious segment, fine," Beliak began. He elaborated on his grievances, stating, "You turned me into the most 'toxic and divisive' MK in Israel, fine. You gave me a 'fine' three times, without allowing me to respond even once on air, fine."

Beliak also addressed a comparison he claims was made during the segment, questioning the hosts' view that publishing incitement against the justice system and calling Smotrich a "rag of ultra-Orthodox functionaries" is equivalent to his actions. The Yesh Atid MK then shifted to discuss the opposition's work in the Knesset, which he feels the hosts do not appreciate.

"I want to tell you just one thing: Our struggle in the Knesset, which receives zero appreciation from you, is also about your tax money. About the future of the country, which is also yours. About democracy and freedom of expression, which are surely important to you too," he stated.

Beliak concluded with a warning about the potential consequences if the current coalition remains in power after the elections. "And if, God forbid, the current coalition survives these elections, it will immediately act to shut your mouths and strip you of the right to practice the profession you love so much. Let there be no doubt about that," he wrote, adding a final jab at Bardah and Limor to "continue making your strange symmetries. Good luck."
