Israel Vows Revenge on Hamas Leaders Abroad After Gaza Strike

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced Tuesday that the IDF eliminated the commander of Hamas's northern Gaza Strip brigade overnight as part of an ongoing campaign targeting the terror group's senior officials. Gallant stated that Hamas leaders residing outside the Gaza Strip are also targets.

"The IDF eliminated the commander of the northern Gaza Strip brigade of the Hamas terror organization overnight, as part of the ongoing elimination operations against the terror leaders in Gaza," Gallant said. He explained that these targeted killings aim to "harm Hamas's ability to carry out terror attacks against our forces and to shatter its capabilities on the way to disarming it, and to exact revenge on all those responsible for the murders and atrocities committed on Simchat Torah three years ago against Israeli women and children solely because they were Jewish."

Gallant issued a direct threat to Hamas officials abroad, declaring, "Hamas leaders abroad are also in our sights, none of these abhorrent murderers, who were a central part of the October 7th massacre, should die peacefully in their beds." He added, "This is our duty as a people and a state. They escaped once due to a malfunction, but the next time will come, and they too will be sent to the depths of hell."

Gallant's remarks come two weeks after new details emerged regarding Qatar's alleged role in helping Hamas leaders evade an assassination attempt in Doha. According to reports, a Qatari security team activated a pre-prepared rescue plan, assisted the officials in changing clothes, and dispersed them among several vehicles.
