KKL-JNF Restricts Nova Site Access Ahead of October 7 Anniversary

Ahead of the one-year anniversary of the October 7th Hamas attacks, Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael (KKL-JNF) has issued strict guidelines for the Nova music festival site in the Re'im Forest. The organization emphasized that the site is designated solely for remembrance and private reflection, not for organized events or celebrations.

In coordination with the Israel Police and other security and rescue forces, KKL-JNF stated that no permits will be granted for activities inconsistent with the solemn nature of the location. Visitors are urged to respect the sanctity of the site, the memory of the victims, and the feelings of the bereaved families.

Strict regulations will be enforced, prohibiting the setup of tents, overnight stays, sound systems, open fires, or the use of barbecues within the compound. KKL-JNF Chairman Eyal Ostrovsky strongly condemned any notion of holding inappropriate activities at the site, drawing a parallel to Auschwitz. "Just as no one would dare think of holding a party at the Auschwitz extermination camp, it is inconceivable to hold any celebration at the Nova site in the Re'im Forest, where 378 civilians and security forces personnel were murdered," Ostrovsky stated.

Ostrovsky reiterated KKL-JNF's commitment to commemoration, highlighting the millions invested in establishing a memorial at the site. "Our sole focus is preserving the sanctity of the memory of the murdered. This is how we have acted since we undertook to invest millions in establishing the memorial for them and for all residents of Israel, this is how KKL-JNF operated at the Nova site in the Re'im Forest, and this is how we will continue to act throughout the country," he added.
