Israeli Firm Seals European Deal for Advanced Loitering Munitions

Israeli defense technology company UVision has signed a significant agreement with Estonia's LendurAI, integrating its HERO series of loitering munitions into systems for a NATO member state's military. The specific country, deal value, and the exact system involved remain undisclosed, marking UVision's initial entry into the Baltic market.

This development occurs amidst heightened military readiness in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, driven by concerns over potential Russian aggression. European intelligence agencies warn that Russia might test NATO's resolve through limited actions, such as drone or missile attacks, border incursions, or sabotage, rather than a full-scale invasion.

The core of the agreement involves UVision's HERO munitions, designed for precision strikes without requiring fighter jets or helicopters. These munitions can patrol an area, identify targets, and then dive to strike. The HERO family includes models with ranges exceeding 15 kilometers and flight times of up to 30 minutes, as well as anti-armor variants reaching 60 kilometers with hour-long endurance.

LendurAI will incorporate its autonomous technologies, notably the Neocortex system, which has reportedly been operationally proven in Ukraine. This integration aims to enhance the munitions' independent operation, even under conditions of disrupted communication or GPS jamming.

This is not UVision's first expansion into Europe; in March, the company established a subsidiary in Munich to serve as a European hub for local production, engineering, training, and customer support. Previously, in November 2025, Germany's Rheinmetall announced an order for hundreds of HERO loitering munitions equipped with anti-tank warheads from a NATO country, valued at over 100 million euros.
