Ex-Player Tal Ben-Haim Slams Israel's National Team After Humiliating Loss

Former Israeli national team player Tal Ben-Haim has strongly criticized the team following their "humiliating" 3-0 defeat to Ireland in the Nations League. Speaking on the "Olim LaRegel" podcast, Ben-Haim described the performance as a "disgrace" and compared it to a "veterans' game" during the first 25 minutes.

Ben-Haim emphasized that while losing to a better team like Ireland is acceptable, the manner of the defeat was unacceptable. "It's hard for me to pinpoint one person," Ben-Haim said regarding responsibility for the loss, but acknowledged that coach Ran Ben Shimon is "guilty." He described the defeat as a "mark of Cain" for players, equating its severity to losing five consecutive derby matches 5-0. Ben-Haim urged the team to approach such games with a completely different mindset, especially considering the opponent's perceived disrespect.
