Netanyahu, Defense Minister Katz Condemn Israeli Rioters Near Nablus

Israeli security forces operated overnight in the Palestinian village of Jalud, near Nablus, after over 100 Israeli rioters arrived in the area. The rioters were reportedly responding to an organized effort to return a Palestinian family to their home, which they had fled due to nationalist crime incidents. During the riot, roads were blocked, tires were set ablaze, and stones were thrown at security forces. Several buildings, vehicles, and property were damaged, and three Border Police officers were injured.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu strongly condemned the incident, stating that the "handful of rioters does not represent the law-abiding settler public in Judea and Samaria" and causes them "enormous injustice." He added that they "hinder our forces in carrying out their mission" and called for law enforcement to "exhaust the full severity of the law with the rioters."

Defense Minister Israel Katz, who was in Judea and Samaria at the time, also issued a sharp condemnation. He described the rioters' actions as "outrageous" and stated that they "hinder the thwarting of Palestinian terrorism, divert forces from their missions, and severely damage security efforts, settlement, and the State of Israel." He wished a speedy recovery to the injured Border Police officers and pledged full backing to the security forces.

Opposition figures also denounced the violence. Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, called the events "abhorrent" and a "campaign of terror and violence." He stated that such actions are "immoral, not Jewish, and harm the security of all residents, as well as the work of the security system." Eisenkot attributed the incident to "anarchy and loss of control" under the current government and urged swift legal action against the perpetrators.
