22-Year-Old Arrested for Drug-Impaired Driving, 30 Prior Traffic Violations

Police in Nazareth, in cooperation with Border Guard forces, arrested a 22-year-old man from Yafia al-Nasira on Monday evening on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. The arrest occurred during a concentrated operation aimed at enhancing road safety and personal security.

During the stop, police discovered the suspect had accumulated over 30 previous traffic violations, had been caught for similar offenses four times previously, and was serving a suspended two-month jail sentence. He was taken to the Nazareth police station for questioning.

Following the investigation, the driver was detained, and his vehicle was ordered disabled. He was scheduled to appear before the Nazareth Traffic Court on Tuesday morning.

The operation also resulted in over 40 additional traffic violations being recorded, with strict measures taken against drivers endangering the public. Three vehicles were impounded for 30 days, and their drivers' licenses were suspended for offenses including driving without a license and refusing drug tests.

Additionally, a targeted operation against two-wheeled vehicle drivers led to 10 vehicles being removed from the road and 14 citations issued for bicycle and motorcycle violations. Numerous other citations were issued for life-threatening traffic offenses.
