Ben-Gvir Vows to Burn Hamas Leader's Body if Appointed Defense Minister

Israeli Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has declared his intention to drastically alter policies regarding the bodies of terrorists, particularly those involved in the October 7th massacre, if appointed as the next Defense Minister. Ben-Gvir, chairman of the Otzma Yehudit party, reiterated his demand to hold the Defense Minister portfolio in the upcoming government.

In a recent interview with Kan Reshet Bet, Ben-Gvir stated, "After I receive the Defense portfolio, I will ensure the burning of Sinwar's body and the bodies of the October 7th terrorists. As Defense Minister, I will bring about a fundamental change in concept." He has repeatedly outlined his plans for the Defense Ministry in recent days.

At an event near the Gaza border, Ben-Gvir expressed hope for a return to settlements like Nisanit before the elections, but if not, he aims to be Defense Minister to facilitate the return of Israelis to the northern border region and Gaza. Previously, he presented a security plan that includes encouraging voluntary emigration from Gaza and the West Bank, disarming the Palestinian Authority, and arresting its leaders who support terrorism.

Ben-Gvir also seeks to change IDF open-fire regulations, increase support for soldiers, raise soldier salaries, and provide free land to combat soldiers. His proposed changes within the IDF include altering the military's ethical code, which his party described as "Asa Kasher's progressive ethical code," opening elite units like Unit 8200 to the general population.
