Israeli Settlers Attack Palestinian Village Near Ramallah, Torching Cars and Homes

In the Palestinian village of Al-Mughayyer, northeast of Ramallah, a group of Israeli settlers allegedly attacked residents and vandalized property overnight on September 29. According to Palestinian Authority sources and video footage, several cars belonging to local residents were set ablaze, and reports indicate that homes were also targeted. One home, with a family inside, reportedly had a Molotov cocktail thrown at it.

This incident marks at least the third such attack on Al-Mughayyer in recent days. On September 26, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported attacks on vehicles on the road between Al-Mughayyer and Abu Falah, as well as the theft of agricultural equipment and an attack on an ambulance. On September 28, WAFA stated that settlers attacked a residential building in Al-Mughayyer, and later that evening, a car carrying a young couple and a child was attacked, with the child sustaining injuries.

The Judea and Samaria Police have launched an investigation into the Al-Mughayyer incident. In addition to the events in Al-Mughayyer, reports emerged on the night of September 29 of attacks on homes in the village of Qaryut and arson in Jalud, south of Nablus. The previous day, September 28, saw reports of car arsons in other Arab villages northwest of Ramallah, including Dir Abu Mashaal and Ras Karkar.
