Avigdor Lieberman Mourns Death of Close Friend Gilad Altman

Avigdor Lieberman, head of the Yisrael Beiteinu party and a Knesset member, announced the passing of his close friend Gilad Altman on September 28. Lieberman shared his grief on his X account, stating he was "shaken" by the news of Altman's death. Altman was the chairman of the public organization "Admat" and had previously served as an advisor to the Minister of Defense.

Lieberman described Altman as "a man of the land in the fullest sense of the word," highlighting his love for the country, his values, his dedication to action, and his commitment to helping others. "He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him," Lieberman wrote, extending his condolences to Altman's family.

Altman was recognized as a prominent public figure focused on preserving state lands and developing rural areas. His career included significant roles in government and security-related positions. He led the "Green Patrol," a state project dedicated to protecting open lands, and served as an advisor to the Minister of Defense on settlement and agricultural matters, gaining deep insight into land use and rural development issues.

For the past decade, Altman led "Admat," a non-profit organization dedicated to safeguarding the rights of farmers and preserving the heritage of pre-state agricultural settlements. His death is considered a significant loss to agricultural settlements and the broader Israeli agrarian community.
