A Haredi child was trapped during play inside a concrete trash container in Beitar Illit on Monday and was rescued unharmed by firefighters from the Judea regional station. The incident unfolded in the street and prompted an urgent rescue operation after the child became stuck inside what the source calls a concrete "betonada."
Fire crew commander Ziv Yona said the firefighters carried out delicate, complex extraction steps to avoid injuring the child. During the rescue, they also worked to calm the child and his family, with assistance from medical personnel at the scene. The child was pulled out safely and without injury.
Following the rescue, shift commander Lichi Ben Lulu issued a warning to parents and children, saying, "The betonadas are not part of children's games. They are a safety obstacle that can pose a real danger, and no one should go inside them. Please keep children safe and avoid such dangerous games."
