Firefighters from the Judea regional station were called in the afternoon to rescue a child who became trapped inside a concrete container while playing in Beitar Illit. The crew carried out the extraction carefully and with medical assistance on site, while also calming the boy and his family.
According to team commander Sgt. Maj. Ziv Yona, the rescue was done gently to protect the child’s safety and health. He said the firefighters worked “in parallel with calming him together with his family, with the help of medical personnel at the scene.”
The child was freed safely, and afterward he and his family thanked the firefighters for their “dedicated, sensitive and professional” work. Shift commander Reshef Lichi Ben Lulu used the incident to warn parents and children that “the concrete blocks are not part of children’s games” and are a safety hazard that can pose a real danger, urging families to avoid such risky play.
