Manor Solomon Faces Backlash Over Pro-Israel Remarks After Match

Israeli footballer Manor Solomon has drawn significant criticism in Britain and across Europe following his post-match comments after Israel's 3-0 loss to Ireland. Solomon, who captained the Israeli team in the match, revealed he did not receive a handshake from the Irish captain, Dara O'Shea. Solomon stated, "If I say what I really think about them, I'll probably be suspended for a few matches, so I don't want to say. Clearly, they hate us, and we don't like them either." He added, "I'm already waiting for the next game against them, it will be completely different. What they did during the anthem? They don't interest me. We have a country that is ten times better than theirs, stronger, an amazing country with amazing people. We are proud of our country and our soldiers. They can do all their exercises. We are Israelis and love the country. And that's how it will always be."

In Ireland, Solomon's remarks were poorly received. Reports indicate a confrontation between Solomon and Irish player Jake O'Brien, who allegedly told Solomon, "Shame on what you are doing in Gaza. You deserve to lose." Additionally, fans of English clubs have attacked Solomon for his "support of the IDF, which is committing war crimes."

The radical left-wing organization Antifa also joined the criticism, labeling Solomon on social media as a "Zionist footballer who openly supports the genocide in Gaza."
