Irish Defender Accuses Israeli Fans of Racism, Solomon Responds
A heated confrontation erupted on the field during the first half of a match between Ireland and Israel. Following a tackle by Dor Turgeman on an Irish player, a verbal dispute broke out between Ireland's defender, Jake O'Brien, and Israel's captain, Manor Solomon.
O'Brien, a defender for Everton, approached Solomon shouting, "Your fans are racist, your fans are racist." His complaint stemmed from booing directed at the Israeli crowd. Solomon reacted angrily, retorting, "We are racist? Do you hear yourself? We are racist?"
The Israeli coaching staff also expressed anger, appealing to the referee by stating, "They are cursing us and you are ignoring it?"
