Acre Approves Major Urban Renewal Project Replacing Old Homes with New

The Acre Local Planning and Building Committee has approved a significant urban renewal project that will see 56 existing housing units demolished and replaced with 366 new units. The project, located at 19 Ahad Ha'am Street and 9 Babel Street, involves the construction of new residential buildings ranging from 10 to 16 stories.

This initiative is considered a major step forward for urban renewal in Acre, aiming to revitalize older residential areas, enhance the living environment, and increase the housing supply within the city. The plan will now be recommended to the District Planning and Building Committee for further advancement as a "Pinui Binui" (evacuation and construction) project.

The project is spearheaded by developer Ayala Agam, in collaboration with SO Architects. Mayor of Acre, Ohad Shagav, stated that this marks a new chapter for the city's development, emphasizing that urban renewal goes beyond new construction. He highlighted its role in renewing old neighborhoods, improving residents' quality of life, and creating modern living spaces. The mayor affirmed the city's commitment to advancing further plans to strengthen Acre and ensure its future growth.
