Netanyahu's Lawyer Accuses Legal Advisor of Delaying Pardon Request
Ilan Bombach, the legal representative for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has accused the government's legal advisor, Gali Baharav-Miara, of deliberately delaying her professional opinion on Netanyahu's pardon request. Bombach stated that nearly a year after the request was submitted on November 30, 2025, Baharav-Miara has not yet provided her conclusion. "To this day, Miara has not even responded. She has not presented her conclusion on the pardon request submitted on behalf of the Prime Minister," Bombach was quoted as saying by "Srugim".
According to Bombach, while President Isaac Herzog has the authority to deviate from recommendations, he cannot act on the pardon request without the legal advisor's opinion. Bombach believes the delay is intended to obstruct the pardon process, calling the advisor's behavior "disgraceful" and aimed at "derailing this, dragging it out, not presenting her position on the pardon."
