Right-Wing Activist Meni Yitzhak Assif Slams Captive's Father Over War Criticism

Right-wing activist Meni Yitzhak Assif launched a scathing attack on Chen Avigdori, whose wife and daughter were kidnapped and later released on October 7th. The dispute began when Assif wrote to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, urging him to release protocols given to the State Comptroller. Assif claimed these protocols would prove betrayal and a conspiracy led to the October 7th massacre, citing threats to dismantle the army, air force, intelligence, and Shin Bet.

Assif implored Netanyahu to publish the documents to counter what he called lies and fabrications aimed at accusing the Prime Minister of treason. He described himself and other right-wing activists online as struggling against those spreading falsehoods and noted their diminishing strength and exposure.

Avigdori responded to Assif's post, agreeing with the call for transparency but predicting it would not happen. He asserted that when the archives are opened, even Assif and his supporters will realize Netanyahu was repeatedly warned and ignored the threats, abandoning the country both before and after the attack. Avigdori stated that this failure is the reason for the upcoming elections and that accountability will come.

Assif retorted by calling Avigdori a mediocre television editor who built a career on his wife and daughter's abduction, emphasizing their release was due to the IDF, the Israeli government, and God. Assif further accused Avigdori of being a radical leftist who damaged Israel's image and the war's legitimacy, and allegedly incited antisemitism by shouting in the Knesset, "Didn't you kill enough Arabs?" Assif characterized Avigdori as someone who saw Israel and the IDF as the villains even while his family was held hostage, labeling him a radical leftist unable to distinguish right from wrong.
