Burger Chain Honors Nova Massacre Victim With Special Meal Deal

The Israeli fast-food chain "Burgerim" is launching a special "Libi's Eighth" burger meal to commemorate Libi Cohen-Maguri, a 22-year-old officer who was killed at the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023. The initiative, in collaboration with Libi's family, aims to honor her memory through one of her favorite things: the chain's signature burger meal.

Libi, described as an outstanding infantry officer, was murdered during the Hamas attack. Her mother, Shelly Meshel Yogev, shared her daughter's final words to her, expressing love and acceptance, and has since been dedicated to ensuring Libi is not forgotten. Libi had previously been photographed holding the "Eighth" meal, a detail that inspired the chain's decision.

Shirley Imber, the chain's vice president, stated that the company felt compelled to create a "personal and lively" tribute after learning Libi's story. The "Libi's Eighth" meal, featuring eight burgers and two side dishes for 189 shekels, will be available from October 7 to 31. Each order will include a postcard and sticker featuring Libi's image.

Furthermore, Burgerim will donate 5 shekels from each "Libi's Eighth" meal sold to an organization established to memorialize Libi. Customers can increase this donation to 10 shekels per meal by adding an extra 5 shekels during their purchase. This initiative is part of a broader wave of events planned to mark the upcoming anniversary of the October 7th massacre.
