Following Maccabi Tel Aviv’s loss to Hapoel Tel Aviv in Game 3, the team gets another chance to seal the championship when it visits Hapoel on Tuesday. Coach Oded Katash said Maccabi is still in a strong position in the series and wants to win the title on the road.
"We are in a good position in the series and need to win the championship tomorrow away from home. It is no harder than winning two away games, which we already did," Katash said. He added that disappointment is natural, but this is Maccabi’s first opportunity in the playoffs to respond after a defeat. "We will find the strength to come and fight," he said, noting that the opponent is "a team with quality" and that Maccabi must focus on what it can control.
Katash also confirmed that guard Tamir Blatt will not be available for Game 4. "Tamir did not practice on the court, he will not be fit for tomorrow’s game," he said. The comments came ahead of the Israeli Basketball Premier League playoff matchup, as Maccabi looks to end the series and celebrate the championship.
