Kanga Hooreh Scores Twice Again, Nearing Career Goal Milestone

Kanga Hooreh scored two goals for Curaçao in their 6-1 victory over Nicaragua in the CONCACAF Nations League on Sunday night. This brace marks the second consecutive game in which Hooreh has scored twice, bringing his national team goal tally to ten in 41 appearances. He now ranks fourth all-time for Curaçao, tied with Alsonso Hoy.

Hooreh is 11 goals behind the national team's all-time leading scorer, Rangelo Janga. He also trails Leonardo (17 goals) and Juninho Bacuna (15 goals). As Janga, Leonardo, and Bacuna are still active players, it is unlikely Hooreh will become Curaçao's all-time top scorer.

Despite not reaching the all-time scoring record, the former Maccabi Haifa player is arguably in the best form of his career. As captain of Maccabi Haifa, he recently scored a penalty against Hapoel Tiberias, bringing his total to five goals in his last three matches. The consecutive braces against Costa Rica and Nicaragua are the first time in his senior career that Hooreh has scored two goals in back-to-back games. According to Transfermarkt, these are two of the four braces he has scored in his career.

Hooreh was part of Curaçao's squad at the World Cup, playing 15 minutes in their 0-0 draw against Ecuador, which was the team's only point in their historic tournament appearance.
