Southern Israel Offers Diverse Holiday Attractions From Science to Desert Festivals

Southern Israel is presenting a wide array of activities for the intermediate days of the Passover holiday, known as Chol HaMoed. These attractions span science, history, music, and culinary experiences, catering to various interests.

In Be'er Sheva, the "Carasso Science Park," the region's sole science museum, is hosting a "Science and Water Festival." This event features ten scientific stations, water inflatables, science shows, and 14 interactive exhibits suitable for families.

For those interested in history and desert experiences, the ancient Nabatean city of Mamshit is being brought to life with activity zones, guided tours, and games, culminating in a sunset show. Simultaneously, Ashkelon is holding a "Time Travel" festival at its historical sites, offering craft workshops and large-scale children's shows.

Evening and nighttime activities include the "Knofim Village," which transforms into a rhythmic desert atmosphere with drum circles, DJ parties, night tours, stargazing, and bonfires. The "Tamar Festival" at the foot of Masada, a long-standing music event, is also celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Tamar Regional Council and will feature leading artists. Ashdod is hosting a culinary and wine event by the lake, with approximately 20 boutique wineries and food stalls participating.

Additionally, the Jewish National Fund (JNF) is offering activities in southern forests, such as in the Kiryat Malachi forest, including pizza-making workshops and nature activities. The holiday offerings in the South combine adventure, history, music, and gastronomy, encouraging visitors to choose their preferred destinations.
