Jimmy Clark Shines as Maccabi Tel Aviv Dominates Kiryat Ata in Cup Game

Maccabi Tel Aviv secured a decisive 109-61 victory over Kiryat Ata, advancing to the Winner Cup semifinals. The team showcased strong offensive performance, hitting 14 of 28 three-point attempts.

Guard Jimmye Clark was a standout player for Maccabi, contributing 11 points and a team-high seven assists in just 19 minutes of play. He also added three steals. Clark, who recently recovered from a hamstring injury that sidelined him during the preseason, has been gradually increasing his playing time and impact. He played alongside John DiBartolomeo, Bonzie Colson, TJ Leaf, and Daniel Theis, while Yam Madar and Jalen Reynolds were given limited minutes or rested.

Clark's performance comes after a solid outing in a previous game against Villeurbanne, where he scored nine points and dished out six assists. Last season, he often played as a shooting guard, but has shown versatility this year. He fouled out in the Villeurbanne game but committed only three fouls in his limited minutes against Kiryat Ata.

Daniel Theis, Maccabi's leading scorer in the game, commented on the team's progress, stating, "A good win for us, trying to get into rhythm every game, every game and every minute helps us. I need to find my place and rhythm, this is a new system for me. I need to do what the team needs, block, score, the most important thing is to be aggressive." He also reflected on the team's previous loss to Villeurbanne, emphasizing the need for stronger, more prepared play from the start against tough EuroLeague opponents.

Maccabi Tel Aviv will now prepare for a demanding week featuring two games: a matchup against Besiktas on Wednesday and Panathinaikos on Friday.
